When we were reeling under oppressive foreign-rule, the idea of self governance was our only dream. It was for the realization of this dream did the Great Freedom Fighters of our country fought against the British and won the independence on the 14 August 1947. The founding fathers of our constitution were well learned and thus carved out a Constitution making room for every thing that we enjoy doing today(even though we complain we still have not stopped from practicing any of these), every provision for safeguarding the rights of every human being(it just considers all as human beings without the discrimination of people on the basis of Religion, Cast, Money). The democratic set-up gives us a sense of fraternity and equality.
The nature of leadership that followed forgot the very purpose of this constitutional framework.
An elected representative today refers to the work done in their constitution as a favour done to the people rather and not as their elected responsibility or duty to do so for the people. In their tenure in office, they plan effectively on how to het re-elected the next time instead of planning for the upliftment of the people.
A person should be elected based on his/her own credibility rather than the surname that they suffix nor by the family that they come from. People can also be elected by their humble origin and the real flavour of a leader.
